Life is about balance. So whenever the Sony VX and vintage effect homages to old skateboarding videos start to overpopulate the feed, it’s nice to step back into the present day of HD. According to Ricky Davidson’s newly released part, the O-ONE FUCKIN’ SIX-ONE video from across the pond, seems to be just that. Great quality skateboarding filmed in high-definition, with just a pinch of old-school influence (a fish-eye lens and 4:3 screen ratio) makes for very pleasurable viewing.

The video, named after Manchester’s area code, is shot and edited by Isaac Wilkinson with the support  of local shop Black Sheep Skateboard Store, who just welcomed Ricky Davidson to their shop’s team. The move is of no surprise as the Aussie-born rider really holds it down in terms of technical ability, trick choice, and style.

His part features a sweet-spot medley of street, plaza, parking lot, and mid-size stair wizardry, which definitely earns Davidson his well balanced keep. If the rest of the video is anything like his part, it will certainly be more than worth the watch. Other featured riders in the video include Jiri Bulin, Rikk Fields, Lucien Costello, and Seb Batty.
