Valentine’s Day is around the corner and that means it’s time to start shopping for your special someone (or yourself, because why the hell not?!). Chocolates have become a staple gift for this Hallmark holiday, but instead of the usual heart box of bland sweets, why not kick it up a notch with something extra special? From straight-up simple to exotic flavors, here are our favorites when it comes to delicious cannabis-infused chocolates.
For those of you who don’t live in a legal state, we don’t want you to feel left out. Remember that, instead of purchasing some yummy canna-sweets, you can always make your own. All you have to do is decarboxylate some cannabis and use it to infuse some butter or oil, then use that to make your loved one’s chocolate dreams come true.
Whatever you end up buying (or making) this Valentine’s Day, we hope you enjoy a lovely (and love-filled) buzz!
Kiva Confections ($20)
Kiva Confections is one of the most well-known cannabis edibles companies around. And its popularity is well deserved. Not only does Kiva offer a wide variety of chocolate bars—both in dosage and flavors—but the company also prides itself on potent cannabis consistency. These chocolate bars are solid choices for any special sweetie in your life.
Défoncé Chocolatier ($20)
High-end chocolatier Défoncé has brought together true artisans that take sun-grown, single-origin cannabis and infuse it into decadent chocolate bars. Their flavors may be simple, but the actual chocolate is anything but. Each bar has 180mg of cannabis and they’re all gluten-free, while most are made with organic chocolate.
Korova Edibles ($15–$50)
Korova Edibles offers up a number of tasty treats, but the company may be best known for its Black Bar, which has a SUPER HIGH 1,000mg of THC for macrodosing. Korova notes that this bar is for “experts only,” so make sure your sweetie knows how to handle their stuff before splurging on this spacey sweet.
Hashman Infused ($12-plus)
Hashman is great because you can choose between sativa and indica based chocolates—something not all brands offer. There’s a high-CBD option if you want pain relief, but if you’re looking for a high-flying good time, check out the 420 Cherry Bomb, which offers 420mg of infused hybrid CO2 cannabis oil mixed with cherry pop rocks for some extra fun!
Whoopi and Maya ($18-plus)
Want to try something completely different with your beloved this Valentine’s Day? Try some “Savor” from Whoopi Goldberg’s eponymous line with Om Edibles founder Maya Elisabeth. Savor is not your average chocolate. In fact, it is thick and comes in a jar and is made from raw, unprocessed cocoa beans and cannabis. It’s both healthy and delicious! You can scoop it out with a spoon and eat it straight from the jar or spread some on toast, fruit, or even mix it with some hot milk or water for sipping cocoa.
Verdelux Chocolates ($40)
Based out of Washington State, Verdelux offers 10 mg Bon-Bombs, which are a high-end version of bonbons with weed, which is just all sorts of spectacular. They have them in a variety of flavors and even have a vegan option! Also, the company suggests letting the chocolate sit in your mouth for a bit to warm up to the right temperature, which is sensuous and so perfect for Valentine’s Day!
Leafs By Snoop ($25)
Of course, we couldn’t leave out our main man Snoop. In addition to various candies, Leafs By Snoop offers some stellar chocolate bars in flavors you won't find anywhere else, like Strawberries N Cream with Waffle Bits! Serious yum going on all over the place here.
Colorado-based Incredibles has an extensive selection of chocolates to choose from. For Valentine’s Day we’d suggest going with the 100mg Strawberry Crunch Bar, which has the perfect pink hue and features rich white chocolate, flax crispies, real strawberries, and hybrid weed, and breaks down to pieces of 10mg goodness. It’s also organic and gluten-free, which will show your boo you care about their dietary desires and needs.
