If you don’t know who Philadelphia-based rapper Lil Uzi Vert yet, it’s about time you got familiar. The rising hip hop artist has taken 2016 by storm thus far, making it in onto the prestigious roster for this year's XXL Freshman Class and dropping two hot mixtapes, Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World and The Perfect Luv Tape. But, apparently, like the rest of us, Uzi (real name Symere Woods) flies coach and doesn’t mind taking selfies with fans, even if they don’t quite know who he is…

Earlier this week, a father was sending his son Greg Brock text messages about sitting next to a rapper on an airplane flight. 

“So I’m on the plane and sitting next to a rapper.. Don’t know his name.. He has dreads with pink tips any idea?” the father texted his son. 
 

As expected, Uzi had his classic pink dread tips and some bling around his neck and wrist.

Brock instantly knew it was Lil Uzi Vert, and upon saying so, his father sent him a picture of him and Uzi cheesing for the camera. Brock tweeted screenshots of the text message exchange and the photo of his father and Lil Uzi, which has since gone viral across the Twitter-sphere. There’s no word on whether or not Uzi has seen the viral photo from the flight, but one thing is for sure, the up-and-coming rapper is soaring straight towards stardom.
