Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has already made monumental waves by actively working to legalize cannabis in Canada. After publicly stating his intent to prioritize cannabis legalization in a public mandate letter, Trudeau has now pushed Canada as a leader in a new milestone achievement.

The governor general stated that Canada will be the first country in the G7 to legalize marijuana. The G7, or Group of Seven, is a body of leading international economies that make up over 60% of the net global wealth. The G7 includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the United States (and also includes the European Union). Hopefully Canada will lead the way as the first of many to come.
