The crowdfunding campaign is looking to raise $5 million to pay the legal fees for anyone willing and able to leak Trump's " The Apprentice" tapes.

The last few weeks have certainly brought to light some very shocking revelations about Republican nominee Donald Trump, ranging from his derogatory hot mic remarks about women in 2005 to his debate promise to imprison his opponent Hillary Clinton if he were to win the presidency. The country has never seen such a brash and divisive candidate in recent history, and we’ve gotten to the point where nothing that Trump says or does can be considered surprising.

However, that hasn’t stopped a group of friends from launching a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for the legal fees of anyone who comes forth and publicly releases more footage of Trump and his poor temperament. The Trump Sunlight Campaign, which was created by Aaron Holman, is looking to raise $5 million, the alleged fee quoted in employees' contracts from Trump’s television show Apprentice in the event that any show tape is leaked.

Now, why are Holman and his friends so adamant about getting more of the leaks out there? Recent reports claim that Trump can be heard dropping the N-bomb in one part of off-the-air Apprentice footage. If this is true and the audible proof is actually leaked, the group of friends believe that the scandal would be the final nail in the coffin in regards to Trump’s presidential chances.

Ultimately, the money raised from the crowdfunding campaign will be used towards a defense fund for any reputable source who leaks more insight into Trump’s truly reprehensible character. If a leak is not released directly as a result, the GoFundMe campaign organizers plans to donate the raised funs to the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR), though the CIR has stated that they would not accept the funds or conduct any investigation in a partisan manner. At the time this article was written, the crowdfunding campaign had already raised over $25,000.

Holman and his group of friends, all of whom attended the University of Michigan, aren’t the only people willing to raise the funds for this potential legal defense. According to Buzzfeed, Clinton donor and American Bridge founder David Brock offered to cover all legal expenses for any Apprentice staffer who leaks a tape. “If a $5 million ‘leak fee’ is what stands between truth and total Trump implosion, sign me up,” he said.

According to the television show's producer, Mark Burnett, he does not have the ability or right to release the footage, and also denied the claim that he has threatened anyone with litigation if they were to leak such a tape. The release would likely prompt legal action from Trump himself, but it’s clear that the leaker would have the financial support of many eager anti-Trumpians.
